Our 4th grade undergraduate students İlgim Efetürk and Eylül Çağla Ersöz attended the “OPTICS2023 2nd International Conference and Expo on Lasers, Optics & Photonics” meeting held in Barcelona on 9-10 October 2023.
At the meeting led by Prof. Dr. Dieter Bimberg, Prof. Dr. Edik U. Rafailov, Prof. Dr. Anna Backerra and hosting many experienced names in the field, İlgim Efetürk presented her work titled “An Integrable Optical Imaging Approach to Overcome Kit-Specificity in Lateral Flow Diagnostics” as the only invited speaker at the undergraduate level. The experimental phase of İlgim Efetürk’s study is within the scope of her graduation thesis, which started in early 2023 with the collaboration between IZTECH-Department of Photonics and İzmir Biomedicine and Genome Center (IBG), and with the contributions of Prof. Dr. Canan Varlıklı, Prof. Dr. Hülya Ayar Kayalı, Ege Gökçe Savaş, Ekrem Tınaz and Hakan Bozkurt.
We congratulate Eylül Çağla Ersöz and İlgim Efetürk, who represent IZTECH-Photonics Department’s students in the best way, and we sincerely hope that their journey in shaping themselves will continue with pleasure.
