As part of the orientation event held on October 9, 2025, a welcoming meeting was organized for our first-year studentswho recently joined the Department of Photonics. The event provided an important opportunity for students to meet the faculty members and learn about the department’s academic processes.

During the meeting, expectations regarding academic achievement and scientific engagement were shared with the students. In addition, Yiğit Dinç, a senior student, and our alumnus Umut Baran Gündüz shared their own experiences, offering guidance to the newcomers. By reflecting on their educational and career journeys, they provided valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities of both academic and professional life.

The meeting also featured Hasan Kılınç, president of the IZTECH Optics and Photonics Society, who informed students about club activities, projects, and scientific collaboration opportunities, encouraging them to take an active role in the community.
