2023 Nobel Prizes in Physics and Chemistry Were Awarded to Photonics Studies

Anne L’Huillier, Pierre Agostini and Ferenc Krausz were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for their works enabling attosecond light pulses to enable us to follow electron movements within atoms and molecules.


Alexei Ekimov, Louis Brus and Moungi Bawendi were awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for their works that contributed to the first production and subsequent improvement of quantum dots, which are currently featured in televisions, LED sources and even guide surgeons in removing tumor tissues.
