On December 12, 2024, our Department Chair, Prof. Dr. Canan Varlıklı, delivered a lecture titled “The Dance of Light and Matter: Photonic Science and Engineering.” The event was held as part of the Academy of Wisdom, a free course program centered on the philosophy of lifelong learning and designed for individuals aged 50 and above. In this engaging lecture, the fundamental interaction between light and matter and its role in 21st-century technologies were discussed.

The Academy of Wisdom is one of IZTECH’s community-oriented projects, alongside the Children’s University and the High School Science Camp. These programs aim to share scientific knowledge with various age groups, fostering a passion for learning and discovery. The IZTECH Photonics Department is proud to contribute to such initiatives, bringing the light of science to a broad audience.
