The 2025-2026 Academic Year Opening Ceremony of the Izmir Institute of Technology (IZTECH) began with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Atatürk Monument in Republic Square. The event continued with a program held at the Prof. Dr. Erdal Saygın Amphitheater.

As part of the ceremony, our faculty members from the Department of Photonics, who are among the most prolific authors in our Faculty of Science, were also awarded. Our Head of Department, Prof. Dr. Canan Varlıklı, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Yağmurcukardeş, who also serves as the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science, were presented with a Certificate of Appreciation by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Yusuf Baran, for their outstanding publication achievements.

We congratulate our esteemed faculty members and wish them continued success in the new academic year. We hope that the 2025-2026 Academic Year will be filled with health, happiness, and success for the entire IZTECH family.
