On October 3, 2024, an orientation meeting was held for the newly admitted 1st-year students of our department, as part of the event organized by the Faculty of Science. This gathering provided a valuable opportunity for students to meet with faculty members and receive information about the academic processes within the department.

During the event, a detailed presentation was given on the expectations for academic success and scientific work. Additionally, one of our senior students Zeynep Saatcı and an alumnus Buğra Şen shared their experiences, offering guidance to the new students. They talked about their educational and career journeys, providing insights into the challenges and opportunities encountered both in academia and professional life.

The meeting was also attended by Hasan Kılınç, president of the IZTECH Optics and Photonics Society, and Sümeyye Meryem Çöpür, president of the IEEE Photonics Society student chapter. They introduced the activities, projects, and scientific collaboration opportunities offered by their organizations, encouraging new students to get involved.
