Internship and Cooperative Education Course (CO-OP)

Undergraduate students in the Department of Photonics are required to complete a compulsory internship to qualify for graduation. Listed as PHOT400 in the 8th semester, the internship must consist of a continuous period of at least 30 working days.

The primary objective of the internship is to enable students to integrate their theoretical knowledge with practice and gain industry experience. With departmental approval, students may conduct their internships at companies operating in the field of photonics.

In addition to the compulsory internship, our department offers the PHOT499 Cooperative Education (CO-OP) course. This program aims to reinforce students’ understanding of photonics applications through hands-on experience in industrial facilities.

The table below lists the institutions, organizations, and research groups where our students have completed their internships and CO-OP assignments.

Note:

Your internship documents must be submitted to the Department Secretariat at least 15 days before the start date of the internship. For documents sent by mail, the date of receipt by the Department Secretariat will be considered, not the mailing date. We are not responsible for any potential delays in mail delivery.

The primary goal of the internship is to enhance students’ practical knowledge and experience, complementing the theoretical foundation gained in the Photonics Department, while providing insights into the industry’s application of this knowledge.

It is also recommended that Photonics students and prospective graduates contact the IZTECH Career Office, which helps manage internship and job search processes through university-private sector and university-public sector collaborations.
