Students of the Department of Photonics are required to complete an internship in order to complete their 4-year undergraduate education.

The internship period is at least 30 working days and cannot be divided into more than one internship. Department of Photonics Internship course is listed as PHOT400 following the 8th semester. Students who meet the necessary conditions do their internship in businesses operating in the field of photonics, with the approval of the responsible faculty member.

The general purpose of the internship is to develop the practical knowledge and experience of the students in addition to the theoretical knowledge gained within the Department of Photonics, to gain knowledge and experience about the use of the acquired knowledge in the sector.

If the internship will be carried out in a private sector institution (if the institution is not a public institution), this form must be filled.

Things to Consider While Filling the Forms:

1-) After downloading the Internship Application Form, fill in your personal information, the information requested about the company where you will do the internship and, if certain, the start and end dates of the internship, and print out 2 copies.

2-) After you fill out the information requested in the Internship Application Form completely, submit it to the Department Secretariat to be approved by your Department’s Internship Coordinator and Head of Department.

3-) Download the Unemployment Fund Contribution to Internship Fees Information Form and fill in the required information completely on the computer.

4-) After receiving both copies of the Internship Application Form, signed by your Department’s Internship Coordinator and Department Head, from the Department Secretariat, have it approved by the company where you will do your internship. Also, have the company approve the Unemployment Fund Contribution to Internship Fees Information Form. For the said approval, the relevant parts of the form must be filled in completely and the stamp and signature of the business representative is required.

5-) After the company’s approval, leave an original copy of the Internship Application Form at the company and submit the other copy to the Department Secretariat together with the Unemployment Fund Contribution to Internship Fees approved Information Form. Forms sent by photocopy or fax to initiate your internship will not be accepted. Those who will do an internship outside the city can send the original form by courier or mail by contacting the Department Secretariat after the said forms are approved by the enterprise.

6-) If the company where you are going to do your internship has issued a document stating that it has accepted your internship application and there is the signature and stamp of the business official on the document, you can submit the original of this document to the Department Secretariat without having the relevant place in the Internship Application Form approved.

Your internship documents must be submitted to the Department Secretariat 15 days before the start of the internship. For documents sent by mail, the date the document reaches the Department Secretariat will be taken as a basis, not the date it is mailed. We are not responsible for possible delays in the mail.
