Seminars in Photonics

On-chip Photonic High-throughput Quantitative Bioanalysis Dr. Serap Aksu ETH Zurich, Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering Plasmonics enables us to detect biological molecules even in extremely minute amounts using sub-wavelength light confinement and enhancement near metallic surfaces. Coupled with microfluidics, these detection techniques can lead to powerful methods to quantify molecules in situ and in real time. In this talk…read more →

Workshop on Photonics: Fundamentals and Applications

As an opening activity of the Photonics Department, an international workshop was organised by ICTP-ECAR (International Theoretical Physics Center –Eurasia Advanced Research Center) on August 27 and 28, 2015. During the workshop attendees had the chance to listen the talks of 17 prominent scientists, including 6 from abroad, working in such fields as optoelectronics, plasmonics, lasers, quantum optics, photonic crystals and solar cells. At…read more →
